Our daughters are growing fast, whether we like it or not. Children mature quickly, and before you realize it, your daughter will be able to make her own decisions. Some people will refuse to wear the hijab. Unfortunately, in today's world, it appears that more and more parents are losing the argument. It is not easy to persuade a teenager to wear a hijab. So to help with persuading your daughter to wear a hijab, we are giving you these easy and effective 5 steps, to help your daughter(s) in wearing the hijab, in sha Allah.

5 step Guide:

1. Make dua

And those who say: ‘Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring, the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders for the muttaqūn .(pious)’
(Sūrat al- Furqān, 25:74)

Allah (swt) says, a parent's dua for their child will not go unanswered. Make dua on a regular basis that Allah (swt) blesses you and your children a righteous life, guiding you to follow the laws of Islamic behaviour and dress. Reaching out to Allah is one of the most effective strategies to influence your daughter's thinking.

2. Peer Influence

“A man is upon the religion of his best friend, so let one of you look at whom he befriends.”
(Reported by Abu Huraira in Sunan Abu Dawud)

Everyone wants to be liked by others. It's understandable to feel this way. Most teenagers and pre-teens care passionately about and are influenced by their peers' opinions. Make sure the persons with whom they spend the most time are good role models!

3. Make Hijab Fun

Take your daughter on shopping trips. Allow her to pick the COLORS she prefers. She knows how to pair hijabs with her FAVORITE clothes. However, keep the material in mind. Assist her in selecting a comfy outfit. Show her modest hijabi INFLUENCERS as inspo. Help her discover the beauty of dressing modestly and covering herself in an obscenity-filled society. Show her how it distinguishes you from the competition.

4. Teach them the ‘WHY’

Allah says in Surat-ul-Ahzab,
“O Prophet! Say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they let down upon them their over-garments; this will be more proper, that they may know {as believing women}, and thus they will not be annoyed or harassed; And Allah is Forgiving, Most Merciful”

Inform young Muslimahs that modest attire and behaviour are for Allah's (SWT) sake, to love and obey Him, and to gain His rewards. Their motive for wearing a hijab will drive them to continue wearing it in the face of potentially unpleasant conditions. It will no longer be just a piece of clothing they must wear because their parents tell them to.

5. Hijab PARTY

Host a delightful, girls-only party to HONOR your daughter's transition into womanhood. The celebration can include decorations in her FAVORITE COLORS, delicious APPETIZERS, festive cupcakes, games with little prizes, and various gifts from friends and family. You can even get her a CROWN for the party, to make her feel like a Queen, which is what all women are in Islam. This will make her feel special and cherished, the celebration does not have to be overly complex or expensive. Something that will be unforgettable.

The most important thing is to try to plant the love for hijab in their hearts, starting from a young age. As well as showing them YOUR love for the hijab, which will automatically attach them to it. It will take time and gradually you will see their love for Hijab and Islam.

I hope this guide helps you out and you have an enjoyable and successful hijab journey with your daughter. May Allah strengthen our daughter’s faith and keep them safe. AMEEN!
